Fast Moving Consumer Goods
Distrifresh distributes refrigerated Fast Moving Consumer Goods
The term, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), has to do with consumer goods which are bought a lot. Things like food, toiletries, cosmetics and detergents are just a few examples of the whole range of products. For Distrifresh, the food products which we transport are important, and in particular, the chilled products. From the range of fast moving consumer products, Distrifresh organises the packaging, repackaging, labellingand distribution in refrigerated lorries of many meat and meat related products. Distrifresh specialises in this FMCG group. The entire company and its value added logistics are organised for the refrigerated transport of goods which have to be kept continuously cold. Maintaining the correct temperature is an important KPI in the organisation, which has everything to do with the self-life of products. In that sense, food safety is Distrifresh’s nr. 1 priority and that’s why (logically) it’s focussed on here.
Fast Moving Consumer Goods versus consumer packaged goods
The term Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) are terms which tend to get mixed up together in the industry. For Distrifresh, the difference doesn’t make much difference. Distrifresh transports refrigerated products to other distribution centres for processing and we also repackage large amounts of chilled products into consumer portions (CPG). Distrifresh takes handling FMCG and CPG seriously, 24/7. Because the company specialises in chilled products, it is continually focussed on food safety, which is in the interests of the consumer and just as important for Distrifresh’s clients.
